I really enjoy playing piano, and I love music in general. I've just finished my PhD thesis in the area of Evolutionary Algorithms and Artificial Intelligence. I love Evolutionary Algorithms and I'm fascinated with A.I. I have a degree in physics, but I found A.I. is more interesting. I think Evolutionary Algorithms are going to lead us to true artificial intelligence one day. Anyway, I am really excited by this stuff and I guess that makes me some kind of ubernerd. With respect to my other interests, I like science fiction a lot! My favourite novels are cyberpunk (Neuromancer). I also like Asimov and Clarke, and many others. I really enjoy learning new things, and I especially like contemplating things about science and philosophy in general. I'm excited by new scientific discoveries, but sometimes I think my friends don't share my enthusiasm. There are many other aspects to me too... I also enjoy traveling and getting lost in a crowd. I've traveled to a number of countries in Europe, and most recently I have lived in Tokyo. I have a lot of other interests of course and am always willing to try new things. Life is to be lived in my opinion. I've been told that I'm thoughtful and a really good listener. One of my most memorable experiences recently was traveling to Japan and living in Tokyo for a couple of months. Being immersed in a foreign country and learning how to survive was quite an exciting challenge. Although, not science fiction, one of my favorite books is definitely Memoirs of a Geisha, which I originally read 4 years ago. It's a book I find myself returning to over and over. I think I like it because of the themes of freedom and triumph over adversity in ones life. I've also developed a penchant for Murakami and I enjoyed his book Norwegian Wood immensely. I like a lot of other stuff too, like comics, anime, manga, computer games etc (Although I don't get much time for them!) Anyway, nerds are great people because they're fun and in
