I sometimes question if I'm actually a nerd until someone brings up, like, the music and/or design from video games. Like, I will start waving my hands to the music, different hand for different instrument, humming, going crazy in my own musical world. I often daydream visuals to the music I hear, like the characters interacting from my own books I have yet to write. I see myself walking through corridors not from my own eyes, but from the perspective of the camera in the music video! And I am such a yapper about good game design. The hidden difficulty of making something feel good to play and especially making something that could be, like, microtransaction filled actually fun and reasonable (see the Deep Rock Galactic Battle Pass for more) makes my brain explode. I also love to talk about the missed opportunities of games, and the ways that they are made. Such as the balance of simplicity for the mass market and the diversity for the niche audiences of Minecraft, for example. If you have made it this far without getting bored, you are my kinda person! I've grown up with women for most of my life, and I have a few bad experiences of guys (most of which I block out of my memory, but one I could never forget) which makes me very mistrustful and scared of them. I'm also just way more used to girls and feminine stuff, so I feel less timid with them. I can put up a front of cold and uncaring, but I'm actually a soft girl inside of the cold boy's shield. I am genderfluid, so I am both. It's difficult. If you are a sweet, kind, caring, empathetic, dorky girl (or most of those), reach out! I'm always up for making new friends, especially the quiet girls who might not have anyone else to rely on. I want to help people so I can learn how to heal my, admittedly, still slightly broken heart. What happened, happened. We keep moving.
