I have read many many books in my life but I have a few that stick out that I always tell people to read.

The first is a book by the author Patrick Rothfuss: The Name of The Wind... A beautiful fantasy novel that has a strong main character with wonderful details a fantastic story line and wonderful wording/writing style that sucks you in and keeps you reading and wanting for the next book.

The second is the Trilogy From Philip Pullman: His Dark Art Materials The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife and the Golden Compass... Don't bother with the movie it tanked and was a complete waste of time and money. I've purchased and have had to repurchase the series 3 times now but that's how much I love it.

The Third is Michael Crichton: Jurassic Park and The Lost World. If you like dinosaurs like I do and if you like gore like I do then you should try our this incredibly detailed and well researched to create a world that the movie tried hard to capture but couldn't because Crichton can't be out done.

I'd also recommend Douglas Adam's: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I own the giant all in one hardback 6 book set. I loved the first two books but found the fun fading for me after that. Don't let my opinion keep you from reading all six I would tell you YES read ALL of them. I just wouldn't read ALL of them again myself. Fun, creative and wild, read the book stay away from the movie though ok its again another one that doesn't do the book Justice.

I Loved this next book...The Lies of Locke Lamora is a fantasy novel by Scott Lynch. Its sooo good and I heard they're going to make it into a movie so hurry before you see some s--- previews that begin to ruin it for you. Its about the Gentlemen Bastards very few females in the novel...Its very Manly.

I'm currently reading Kushiels Dart which so far is good.

I've got many more that I would recommend but these are my top picks.

I'm currently reading The Name of the Wind. Have about 100 pages left to go. They're plotting on how to kill the dragon/draccus/overgrown lizard. So far I absolutely agree with your review of it great book.

I love the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. In my collection of autographed books I had him sign it about a year before he passed away. My most treasured nerd item. Again, I agree the first 2 books are the best and after that they kind of fall off....with the exception of the story of the critter that keeps getting reincarnated and Arthur keeps accidently killing over and over. That was hilarious.

The Lies of Locke Lamora is fantastic. I sent Scott an e-mail asking if he got the name from Locke from the Final Fantasy series and complementing him on his useage of the word bum----ery. He was king enough to reply back, very cool guy. I didn't get into the 2nd book in the series as much. Felt it kind of dragged. Hope the 3rd one picks up again.

If you like his stuff I would highly recommend that you pick up Joe Abercrombie's stuff and also Brent Weeks. They are currently my two favorite authors.
