I've read much about the impact humans have on the environment; and I'm convinced that global warming is way over hyped. Our drain of freshwater sources sounds like it will bite us in the --- much more quickly: California has sucked its largest river so dry that it hardly trickles into the Pacific and the central/southern states are supposedly due to drain their aquifer in the next three or four decades. The Department of Life Science and Agriculture at Cornell University estimates that by 2050, even if we develop globally perfect logistic distribution, there won't be enough fresh water available to sustain the human population.
if you're skeptical)

Between that, and our dismal supply of fossil fuels, I suspect that the next several decades will see an acute spike in demand for nuclear/desalination plants. Building such a plant costs dozens of millions of dollars, at the cheapest, though; so I'm not sure how to take advantage of this prospect. I've considered the Purchasing Power Parity discrepancy between America and places of much more rapidly developing economies, like India; but even at that, building a plant would require at least approximately one million USD.

How can people of humble means best take advantage of such foresight, and employ the revelation that these technologies will likely be of utmost demand within the next generation?

Life is a waterfall; we're one in the river, and one again after the fall!
Swimming through the void, we hear the word;
we lose ourselves, but we find it all!
'Cause we are the ones that wanna play.
Always wanna go, but you never wanna stay;
and we are the ones that wanna choose,
always wanna play, but you never wanna lose!
