`Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places.

`I am definitely agoraphobic at times... have been all my geek life. I´m always uncomfortable in public or when with people I don't know, but some days I simply do NOT leave the house (sometimes for several days)... I just can't. Seems to be triggered by several different emotions like anger, depression, sadness. I live with it. Sometimes things get really rough because I have meetings with clients or prospective clients that I really can't postpone... I go out and I'm almost shaking and a little paranoid. Life's a B---- sometimes.

`I have that issue to a certain extent. I'm very selective over the people I hang out with, and when I do spend time with them, I would much rather be in watching a film or something than going out. In crowded places, I freak out. I twitch a lot, and I find myself staring at the exits.
I'm very awkward around strangers also, I try to be friendly but it tends to just come put as uncomfortable.
Which is why I'm on a social networking site I suppose.
