Serious inquires please, no quacks I need folks who actually attained this knowledge through study and can therefore give facts and not opinions!

So I’m writing a book. And in this book I’m including elements (no not quite the chemical elements of the periodic table though in a sense I guess they are included). I couldn’t really find helpful info on the web so I thought I would take it to a forum. But my question is:

What are all the elements?

Yes, I’m referring to Water, Fire etc. which is inspired of Chinese beliefs concerning the 4 main elements. Is something such as SOUND considered an ‘element?’ If so what else could be considered an ‘element’ in that sense (e.g. light, time)? I am just wanting to understand more about this topic as it is an important aspect in my book. Is my question too broad or flawed in any way? Is it more whimsical than hypothetical? Clearly I don’t know too much about it but that’s why I would like to get some answers or even sources to look into so I can clear this up a bit more for myself..
