I just joined this place a few hours ago and figured I might as well post something here, too and see what kind of response it gets.
Basically, I'm looking to broaden my social circle. I don't have many friends and the ones I do have don't have a lot of free time, so most of the week, I feel a bit isolated. I'm going the "dating" route because I tend to get along much better with women than men (for a lot of reasons) and if there is any "spark", even if it doesn't go anywhere or isn't practical, it's a nice added flavor to the friendship.
My "geekiness" consists primarily of being a huge fan of video games (Mario, Zelda, Castlevania, classic Sonic, etc.) and the music thereof - to the point that I dream of being a video game music composer "when I grow up". I do listen to "real" music as well, but I'm far more passionate about the music of Castlevania, Sound Team JDK (Ys, Legend of Heroes, etc.), Sonic (of any era), Konami Kukeiha Club, and other composers/groups with distinctive, "out of the box" sounds. Maybe it would be safer to dive into "Indie" music as a passion, but I'm a geek; it just wouldn't be right.
I'm silly, sarcastic, friendly, kind, fiercely loyal, and an all-around Swell Guy. I'm male, 33, and live in southeast VA. Any response is better than none if this place is even still alive.
