I turned my back on it all and became a bohemian

As a filmmaker, writer, and former industrial DJ (don't let that fool you though, my tastes run all the way from Siouxsie Sioux to Johnny Cash, Concrete Blonde to Howlin' Wolf), creativity is key in any relationship, be it romantic or just friendly. I'm also a member of the SCA (an international historical reenactors group) and an avid reader (last three books on my reading list: The Devil's Cup, Darkly Dreaming Dexter, and The Club Dumas) with a life long love of learning, something I'd like to be able to share. I'm looking for a match who knows when not to take herself too seriously, able to stick her tongue out and give the world a big raspberry sometimes, instead of worrying about the things she can't control (something I try very hard to do myself). Someone more empathetic with other people than sympathetic, able to coax out trust and openness just by being who she is. A woman of artistic, altruistic, and compassionate bent, one who's looking for a natural and strong connection between herself and someone else and who won't settle for something less than that. Love needs compromise, but we should never compromise ourselves in searching for it. I've learned from previous relationships that I can occasionally drag my feet a bit on moving things along, so knowing when to give a guy a gentle shove (or a swift kick) can sometimes be a plus as well. I've been often accused of wearing my heart on my sleeve, so when I'm really interested in someone, it's hard not to see it.
