I need a “Who’s there?†to my “Knock, knock.†I need a paper to my rock. I need the Woman of my Dreams the way a leap year needs a 29th day in February. Am I making sense? Knowing exactly what I’m looking for is easy. I want someone vital, adventurous, charming, a reader and thinker, curious and capable of love. You know Belle from “Beauty and the Beastâ€� Yeah, she’d totally be my soul mate if I was a cartoon character and, you know, the Beast didn’t already have the position filled (darn that Beast). Jokes aside though, someone who exhibits the qualities of that character would very much fall in line with what I’m looking for and I, consequently, would very much fall for her.
As for me, I’m the kind of guy who goes out of my way to buy comics about “The Dark Crystal†if I know you like Jim Henson, keeps a lookout for tickets to a musical if I know you’re into Broadway, or puts a lighthouse ornament on a Christmas tree just because I know you love lighthouses. I consider it the triumph of a gentleman to treat a woman he is with like a lady and I will go out of my way to preserve that tradition. I observe simple things like opening car doors, remembering favorite colors, and being able to answer a question if you asked it because I was actually listening.
I’ll try anything once, as long as it’s not illegal. When it comes to spontaneity, you can be confident I will keep up with you. An ideal date for me starts off as, “Let’s go [insert all wild, tame, thrilling, sweet possibilities the world offers here]†and we go do it. The date doesn’t end, by the way, it merely leads to the next “Let’s go…†opportunity.
