The Very Model of a Modern Major Geek Boy This story begins with an airplane, landing in Sydney, where I travelled from Boston (by way of Moscow) to do my Master's degree. A year later, that mission was accomplished, and this fair-haired lad decided: "Damn, I like Australia, methinketh I might just stay". And stay I did. Fast forward four years later, I'm fully employed, being paid to edit books whilst listening to music. What a total drag, obviously, that. So having scored my dream job (editor, natch!), and set up house with a few good friends, a void revealed itself - and that was a person who in my geekiness found not embarassement but delight. And so I turned my eyes towards nerdpassions.com, in the hope that perhaps such a bonnie lass would in fact be out there, somewhere, drifting (well, walking, really, if she's drifting, and is experiencing problems with gravity...erm, nevermind) about, and thinking: "I wonder if there's a chap who's not ashamed of his geekiness but is socially deft and has some mean chops in the kitchen".

Yes, imagined female example, he does, in fact, exist.

Thus my arrival here, loudly, with a carbon footprint that may result in dinosaurs returning to devour all of us in a rage. Sorry about that.
