Nerdless in Seattle Usually when I talk about myself and my hobbies, people stick up their noses and humph, but here, I fear the opposite will happen: I will sound too hubristic. Bare with me.

It is quite obvious that I am a geek. I am here, after all, so let me just say that I fly my freak flag pretty high. I am not ashamed about who I am. I enjoy the Geek Culture and community, and I am quite contented with it.

I am a Trekkie and Magic the Gathering Player. When I am not gallivanting across the galaxy or destroying the person across from me (Green/red Aggro ftw), I usually have my head in a book: anything from Pride and Prejudice and Zombies to Virginia Woolf to Cormac McCarthy to Stephen King to William James.. I breathe in Philosophy, like I need it to live.

I am a full-time Student (English Major/Library Tech.. yes, I want to be a librarian). I am taking a break from work so I can focus on school, but even when I do work, it is educational. I worked as an English Tutor and Teacher’s Aide at the local community college for nearly 4 and a half years—not that you could tell from my awful grammar and shoddy sentence structure.

I also enjoy photography, but no one else shares in the beauty of my artwork. If you ask them if I have ever taken a good picture, they will narrow their eyes at you and ask if you are joking. They will tell you, however, that I am quite skilled at taking pictures of people in the most awkward of poses: Scrunched Necks, faces full of food, blinking, ad infinitum.
