Like many people here, I'm a geek. I've lost sleep trying to decide which class to play in the video game Baldur's Gate, looked at every tournament-legal card to build a Magic deck, and fantasized about my character's exploits in Dungeons and Dragons. I've also spent dusk til dawn absorbed in the science fiction and fantasy books of Robin Hobb, C.S. Friedman, and C.J. Cherryh.

If I let myself, I could get lost in fantasy worlds. But time has taught me that in the long run, I'm much happier if I feel like I'm helping other people. For me, that means posting on icouldbe.org, a site for mentoring teenagers; creating an online version of Thunderstone, one of my favorite card games; and making my friends laugh with corny puns. Sometimes my jokes miss the mark, but I try.

I also need to feel like I'm moving forward. Since I enjoy learning, that often involves reading books on writing, psychology, or relationships. I'm hoping the knowledge I get from them will help me achieve my goals.

In the long term, I would like to get a master's in writing. That would allow me to explore teaching, an activity I've always enjoyed and might turn into a career.

I'm looking for someone that shares my interest in card, board, and video games or in roleplaying; cares how she treats others; and smiles when she passes a kid. Ideally, I'd like someone that recognizes that time apart adds a spark to time spent together.
