Super nerd and techno-geek A nerd is somebody who's passionate about technical activities - whether it's computers, electronics, rocket science, brain surgery, or any other high-tech state-of-the-art hobby.
Some nerds fit the negative stereotype of glasses, white shirt with tie and pocket protector and inability to interact with others, especially the opposite gender. While some (many?) nerds do fit that stereotype it doesn't apply to everybody - and especially not to me. So I generally prefer the term 'techno-geek' (as opposed to theater geek, sports geek, or other forms of geekdom).
I have been a techno-geek for a *LONG* time, back to the original Apple II computer in 1977. My workroom has been compared (favorably) with the bridge of the Enterprise - four computer monitors and two computers.
