My main interest is maths and I am hoping to do a PhD at Imperial. I have wide interests, science in general, history, literature, politics; I'm good on pub quizzes and would do OK in game shows if I but knew scam onto them. I'm fine with computers but my CS is actually pretty weak and there are a lot of computer things I would like to know about. I am very smart though a bit lazy.

I'm very friendly, kind and amusing but I would like to meet someone who shared my interests and approach to things and would like to share some of my life with me. I believe that "the best thing for being sad is to learn something" but it would be nice to share what I have learned. You would not need to be a math person though that would be nice.

I've spent a lot of time in the US and would be quite happy to be contacted by Americans. I also speak excellent French - I translate French maths into English as a sort of hobby - so am fine with French speakers.

I do not smoke and am generally pretty abstemious.

As a perhaps unexpected conclusion, I have a 4 year old son, who is with me much of the time. I love him very much. He is a very nice, easy-going child, too friendly if anything, good with computers - it baffles me how he could navigate the net so well when he couldn't really read. He can mainly read now. He welcomes new people in his life, as do I.
