Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mindbogglingly big it is. Because of how big it really all is these creatures called nerds have trouble meeting one another. Typically they have trouble settling down with the ordinary as any proper citizen should and are thus are left to their own worlds. These worlds are entirely preposterous to the average person as they are filled with such things as books, cinema, Dr.Who, Star Trek, xkcd, ideas of the future, science, and other such nonsensical things. Nerds themselves are usually oblivious to such feelings given they hardly notice the ordinary to begin with. Some nerds see the average as an uninteresting puddle of muck, something to be sifted through to find the precious gems that lie beneath.
