I'm a self-described geek, and I like to dabble in just about every geeky thing you can think of. I used to think of myself as just a computer geek, but recent years have opened my eyes to the fact that I'm pretty much an "everything" geek, including a strong proficiency in written English. I recently bought a new condo, and I'm finding that I actually have an ambitious home improvement streak, too

I'll compulsively research any activity, entertainment, or gadget I find interesting.

Oh, and I like to use emoticons (judiciously) when I'm writing online. Plain text sucks at setting the tone of a message, so a little smiley can go a long way toward lightening the mood of any given statement.

Between work and play, I tend to spend an awful lot of time in front of my computer. It doesn't take much coaxing to get me away from it, though... I'll usually jump at the prospect of going hiking with a companion (or something more interesting) rather than sit in front of a monitor by myself for a weekend.
