I am a math and music dork. I love abstract conversations about the meaning of art, videogames, politics and international relations, time travel, music theory, food of tastiness, and such. I am looking for a long-term relationship that is intellectually stimulating as well as fun and for someone who embraces my quirks, which include having spirited discussions of the type mentioned above at all times of day and night and at all locations, liking Brazilian food over American food (if you eat meat, I'll take you to Midwest Grill), and having a set of music tastes substantially different from everyone. I talk after movies, about the symbolism and characterization and such, and I like to stay for the credits to listen to the music. I occasionally pull all-nighters and sleep in my office (I'm a grad student at MIT, studying atmospheric science), but I swear I have homework I haven't started yet despite it being 4 AM as I'm writing this. Also I'm deeply liberal, which you don't have to be and which would provide for interesting discussion fodder, and I'm an atheist Jew, which means I like talking about religion and religions quite a bit.

The optional answer: a nerd is someone whose interests are either part of the nerd culture (which is a circular definition, I know) or are chosen irrespective of social value, especially if those interests have social stigma. A nerd will probably shun "mainstream" society to some extent and be friends primarily with other nerds. Primarily, however, a nerd does not care about traditional reputation and will do things others may find "weird", like sing Weird Al loudly down the street.
