Blame! is a great manga, although it's really hard to say way ,but I love it. it is such a good transhumanist comic.
other manga...hmm. what I've read of planetes is really good.
gantz is a must read if you can find it(I stoped reading around ch. 260 or 270 something).
Alive is a very very good one shot you can find it on the interweb ,the movie wasn't any where as good as the manga.
Rurouni Kenshin and vagabond are pretty good samurai ones
Dead End is good for the frist 3 vols.
aslo by the guy that did Dead End did a on shot called smuggler that is worth reading.
oh yeah Black and White is a really nice read and the art is great.
P.S. does anyone know if parasite is any good?

Well it all started with DBZ. Then when adult swim came around and started having shows like Cowboy Bebop, Big O, Full Metal Alchemist, I got into those and a few others. I'm currently into Death Note.

I love Dramacon too! Is anyone reading her new series in YenPlus called Nightschool? It's awesome!
Okay, so on with my list...
Higurashi When They Cry
This one is also in YenPlus. It's freaking scary man! Gives my nightmares... enough said *nod*
Immortal Rain
This is a very unknown series, but by GOD is it amazing! I recommend it to everyone who loves cuteness, because it's the cutest thing ever! Really, it is! Just read it and you'll know.
High School Debut
I'm sad this one is done, but it was one of the best high school based ones I've read. It didn't go on too long, the characters were awesome, the art was amazing, and it was a whole steaming pot of funny, romantic, cute, and more funny.
Tsubasa Chronicles
Based of Card Captors, so no crap it's good. It gets confusing reading it online ever few weeks, but all together it's awesome. Action, romance, mystical sorcery crap... yup, it's got it all.
Honey Hunt
Okay, for anyone who has read Hot Gimmick and loved it as much as I did, you HAVE to read Honey Hunt! The girl has outdone herself again in a new series based around the world of show business. It's amazingly cute, and the main character has her pick of handsome guys. The kind singer, the jerky yet still adorable singer/actor, and the cool calm and collected manager! Who is your favorite? I'm rooting for the jerk off, cause he's by far the best *nods* Don't EVEN say the nice one should be with her, 'cause I'll have to kill you.
I have a ton more on my favorites list, but I'm getting tired of writing. If I think of anything else, I'll just post again So I advise all of you to go look these series up, because you have NO idea what you're missing!

`I love manga!!!! My favorites are Bleach, Naruto, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, Skip Beat, Penguin Revolution, Red River, Five, Ouran High School Host Club, xxxHolic, WJuliet, Prince of Tennis, and Vampire Knight.
Bleach, Naruto and Prince of Tennis are shonen manga which typically has action and fighting and geared typically toward boys but I really liked these.
Bleach has to do with Shinigami (deathgods) and souls and monsters and the balance of good and bad and grey areas I think. I really like it and it's still going on now!!! You can youtube it for some scenes or watch a few episodes on HULU or read it at onemanga if you are up to reading it online.
Naruto has been aound for a while now but I only started getting into it when it became Naruto Shippuden where the characters are a bit older and the anime is more geared toward an older audience. The fight scenes are really great and there is so much drama. It's about ninjas and of course there is this evil group that is trying to achieve world dominat.... I like it alot and you can also youtube/Hulu this and go to onemanga if you want to read a few chapters.
When I was younger I obsessed about Cardcaptor Sakura. I made my own cards and "key" to wear as a necklace and bought the video of my favorite episodes. Later when I was older I bought the box set on dvds. Now Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles came out and when I saw the manga on the shelves I was like WTF...is that Sakura and Syaoran on the cover of that manga??? I immediately ran over and read the first manga... then I squealed and bought it and ran home to show my little sister (she is a big fan of Sakura and Syaoran). Anyway this manga is about a version of Sakura and Syaoran who have to travels through all these dimensions to gathers Sakuras memories as they have been lost and a evil guy is trying to get them too. The other dimensions involve CLAMPs different manga series which I thought was really cute. I'm not doing it justice trying to explain it but I think that you should try it if you like CCS.
Red River is a historical shojo manga about a girl Yuri, who is magically transported to Hattusa, the capital of the Hittite Empire in Anatolia. She was summoned by the evil Queen Nakia who wanted to use her blood in a spell to kill all the princes of the kingdom so her son could be King. Anyway her evil plans are thwarted by the crown prince Kail and Yuri becomes known as the recarnation of the goddess Ishtar on earth. The manga proceeds with much drama and romance. This manga is for more mature females and in the US has a parent advisory sticker on it. I really liked this manga and I think it has a good plot and is hot.
Ouran High School Host Club is also a shojo and is so KAWAII (Cute) !!! I bought the anime series and really liked the characters. It has to do with a tomboy girl who has a scholarship to the school of the rich and famous and she breaks this expensive vase in the host club so she has to work as a host dressed up as a boy and court girls to pay back her debt. However some boys in the club because interested in her and its so much cute drama. If this seems interesting to you, you can youtube it OR onemanga to see if you would like it.
Prince of Tennis is a sports manga about this tennis prodigy and his exploits in a tennis club. On the first day he signs up for the club and defeats several upperclassmen. I found I really enjoyed this manga/anime and it really surprised me how I really got into it. You can read this on onemanga to see if you would be interested in it.
The rest of the manga Skip Beat, Penguin Revolution, Five, xxxHolic, WJuliet, and Vampire Knight are really good shojo manga. I really liked them and bought the manga. You can go to onemanga and search for them to read a few chapter to see if you would like them.

I think there's only right answer for me to post here. Beck. Imagine if you would a manga about a topic that doesn't translate well to a comic format, let's say music. You can't hear what people are playing and there's no guarantee that you'll understand any of it's references. Sounds like a pretty poor premise for a manga right. Unless it's not. Beck is a total page turner even for people who don't know much about music, and what's even more amazing is that you actually feel the music. Seriously, it's a must read.
