Just finished the Scott Pilgrim series and I have to say, I loved it but I'm not crazy about the way it ended. I feel like it would have been better as a seven or eight part series.
Anyone else feel the same or want to convince me that the ending is actually amazing?
Also, how do you feel the movie is going to be?

`Saw the movie, no where near as good as the books. My friends who saw the movie but haven't read it LOVED the movie, my friends who've read it thought it was okay.
As for the ending, I think it is pretty fantastic. I like the transition through Scott and Ramona's relationship: They go from one of those one-sided, can't really tell exactly why their into the other crushes. Then they're in love and happy. And then they have actual, real issues, issues that don't affect how compatible they are but internal issues they need to come to terms with in order to be perfect for each other.
The ending completes both of their emotional journey's. Scott had all the potential to be another evil ex (including having the string of girls still attached to him, like the ones in Gideon's chambers). Instead, they've come to terms with their own emotional issues (Nega Scott), except for Ramona's ex issues, which they defeat together in order to make themselves happy, content, and fully able to be good for each other.
This is more of an essay than a quick argument, eh? I will say, though, I was disappointed that they left to subspace instead of just staying in the real world.

`I didn't have any problems with the differences between the movie and the books.
You know those videos of girls in the sixties and seventies shrieking for the Beatles? Yeah, that was me at the movie.

`I enjoyed the graphic novels. Haven't had a chance to see the movie yet, unfortunately. I've heard good things though.

`The movie's pretty spectacular. It was tailor-made for nerds. Most of the people I know didn't like it because they didn't get a lot of the old-school game references. That movie NEEDS to be seen in theater though, the visuals were stunning and those visuals combined with the music blasting into your face just wouldn't be the same on a tv.
