I love digging through the bargain bin of previous consoles at a video game store. I'll often find a game I've never before knew of, usually for a very small amount of cash. Sometimes they suck, and sometimes I find a game I consider a hidden gem. Either way I always get a strange satisfaction of playing and enjoying a game that few others game the time, for one reason or another. So I ask, have you run across any odd, obscure titles that you're proud to own? To get this started, I believe it's customary to give a few of my own examples, so here goes...
Yanya Caballista: City Skater is a skateboarding game, however I wouldn't say it has all that much in common with say, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series. First, the art style is a lot more anime in style, and has cell-shaded graphics comparable to The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Probably not the best comparison, but it's the best I can think of at the moment. 'n.n
Anyways, I could go on for a while longer about the game, and how odd and quirky it is, but to save anyone reading for an even longer wall of text, I'll just say that I consider it a hidden gem, and while it's not perfect by any stretch, I think it deserves more than it's gotten.
Alright, with that I'm done for now. If I actually get any responses, I'll gladly share some more of my finds. For now, I pass on the subject. I'm interested in what replies I may get.

`I will always have a special place in my heart for X-men Legends II (if only because you can play as Toad and Deadpool). I know of no one else who's played it. *creys*
All other bargain bin games I've come across have been pretty duddy. :T
So, you know of more good weirdies?

`Well, before I get into the ones that are less than average, I'll share another personal hidden gem. It's Called Gotcha Force for the GameCube. A wonderfully face-paced, 3d brawler with some of my favorite characters from a video game. In it you control Gotcha Borgs, tiny little toy-like beings with awesome powers. There's over 100 of them, and you can obtain almost every one, as well as varying color pallets. Each one is different, ranging from singing pop stars to huge dragons to Cowboys. A truly wonderful game in my opinion.
As far as X-men Legends II goes, I've never actually played any of the series. What system is it for, and what kind of game is it? I know I could look it up, but doesn't that ruin a bit of the fun?
I'm off to bed, so I'll post another one as soon as I get up.

`Alright, as I promised, I'll write up another one, since I've finally woke up. XD
Today, I bring you River King: A Wonderful journey. It's a fishing RPG on the PS2 made by Natsume, who you may know from the Harvest Moon Series. I find it a pretty difficult game, but really fun if you can dedicate a lot of time to. It's not the kind of game you can just play mindlessly. Though I warn you, you'll want to find a way to stop the annoying walking sound...

`River king sounds interesting. Here area few I know of.
I Kind of like an obscure little DS RPG titled Master of the Monster Lair. You fight monsters that you attract by building your own dungeon, floor by floor.
For the Wii I would go down PC Gaming memory lane and recommend Sam&Max. The good old dog detective and his psycho bunny partner. The old PC version never worked for me in the 80's so I was really happy it came out for the Wii (and works! lol)
N64... Quest64 was pretty good. Long story short, it's a quest where you learn magic, defeat some monsters and help people.
For PC gamers, I would recommend Exile 1, 2 and 3. It's a little bit like Dungeons & Dragons or the Dragon Lance games where you make a character; say a Mage or a Cleric, a thief or a knight You build a party of 6 and go on a guest. They used to be shareware but I think you can get the Exile trio for free now somewhere online... those who are familiar with the Ultima series might like it too.
PS2 games... for the RPG and puzzle solvers out there, I would recommend Sphynx. It's a whole new take on Egyptian ancient history Basically you switch between being a sphynx (young non-human hero) and the mummy of an Egyptian Pharaoh. That game had good puzzles to solve and some funny bits to it!

I've played this game but I never beat it. I wanted to but I kept getting stuck. The games combat system was actually quite good. It was real time, a lot like the Star Ocean games.
The games that stood out for me? Well, a lot. I mean a lot a lot. I'll just whittle it down to some gems.
Banjo Kazooie/Banjo Tooie- N64
Super Mario 64- N64
Mischief Makers- N64
Turok: Dinosaur Hunter- N64
Chrono Trigger- SNES
Every Megaman X game in existence except for X7 and X8. SNES-PSX
Every Megaman game in existence. NES-SNES-PSX
Megaman Legends 1 and 2- N64 MML1/PSX MML2
All Megaman Zero games.- GBA
Shadow Hearts 2- PS2
Super Metroid- SNES
Every console Zelda game.
I have played more and more and more. I've been playing video games for 18 years. That "Gotchem Force" game, I HAVE played, however I was at a friends and played his copy. The game seemed very fun.
I am literally a video game guru. I know more about video games than most people know about their own families.

`MAG on PS3 is like $10 and pretty good for online FPS
DIABLO for PS1.
it is the essence of "dungeon crawler" or like the the arcade game "Gauntlet"
Xcom/Ps1.
turn based alien vs earth sqaud action with a fully destructible random gen play field in 1994 with a rewarding micro management of earths UFO defense (now being remade for the PS3!!!)
Syndicate Wars/PS1.
(now on PSN Store) a strange and very rare "cyberpunk" RTS thats now being redone as ANOTHER ---n FPS
Populous/PS1
(now on PSN Store) an epic RTS that can be played on PSP with a unique map system- the maps are spheres/globes
Wing Commander (SNES)
its the predecessor to many modern first person space combat sims with an amazing ----ing A.I.
StarFlight (Genesis)
a rare epic game like a star trek voyage with space and planetary game fields and vast amounts of exploration
off topic but the most obscure game tho for PC is World War 2 Online which is a DL free play MMOFPS, and is hardest core online FPS known to man

`Obscure PS1 Classics (If you can find them):
Tecmo's Deception series - You're in a castle, sold your soul to the devil, and your job is to murder anyone who dares enter with traps as they try to steal your power.
Einhander - One of the prettiest airplane shooters (not really a space shooter, really, but lots of mechs and robots), great fast-paced combat and weapon customization.
Guilty Gear - Cheesy one move kills, but lots of eye-candy and great gameplay. Movement is smooth and characters are quirky and dark, like a doctor that murders children and etc.
Incredible Crisis - Series of puzzles and QTE's, but in an insane Japanese way, with an office morning dance contest, sneaking puzzles through a bank heist, running away from a giant round boulder, etc.
Intelligent Qube - 3D puzzle game where you're trapped on a puzzle board, trying to eliminate blocks trying to push you off the edge. You have to keep playing until you run out of walking space and fall to your doom.
Thrill Kill - Unfinished title that can only be found via leaked download. Was blocked by the US government for being too s----l and violent. What has been released of the game is a 4-way battle royale party game that's both twisted as it is violent. Can't really describe it, but it's a lot of fun.
Xenogears - RPG, original copies are rare as the company that created the game went out of business less than a month after the game was released. Unfortunate for the rest of the world, as this is known as one of the greatest RPG's ever developed at the time. Old school, Japanese style, lots of mechs, deep story, etc.

I played the hell out of project overkill. That was the first PS1 game I ever played and I never shook it. I used to bust into my brother's room when I was a kid to play it when he wasn't around. I usually played as the stealth character, the one with the silencer and the knife. I ripped my old disc and played is on my PSP I love that game so much.
