Right now I'm lovin' the Temeraire series by Naomi Novik. Imagine this: the Napoleanic wars... WITH DRAGONS! The dragons aren't magical or anything, they're treated more as sentient animals. It's kind of like a Jane Austin novel and a WW2 bomber plane movie and Master and Commander all meshed into one.

So, rumor has it that Peter Jackson has the movie rights to the Temeraire series (or at least the first book), but he's considering doing it as a cable tv series (sort of like HBO's True Blood) rather than as a movie. I'd LOVE to see it on the big screen, but I also like the idea of cutting out a lot of the movie producer bs so that the story can be done right.

I dread the chance that he might just screw the whole thing up. What do you guys think?
