A friend, a partner, and a lover...in that order. I've been single now for almost 7 years and I'm just sick of being alone, being the one to make all the decisions, of carrying the weight of every little thing totally by myself. My children are getting older, two are close to the point of starting their own lives. It won't be too much longer, and I'll be at a place in my life where I can live a little for myself. I'd like to share that with someone...someone who likes some of the same things and can hold a civilized debate about those things on which we don't agree. How about a man who isn't afraid to share himself with one person? Or a man who can accept all the insane, random, chaotic parts of my life? Maybe a man who is thoughtful, caring, loving and kind-hearted? Or even one who is well-read, educated, and opinionated. Have I described the impossible? Experience tells me yes, I have. And although I'm a tiny bit of a pessimist, (though I prefer the term "realist") I'm still holding on to a smidge of hope that I'll find him one day.
