From the time I was little, I would have to say I was a nerd. Never could quite conform entirely to the "norm" (whatever that is). Always a little on the periphery. The first to befriend the kid that everyone wanted nothing to do with and to be cast out of the group. The last to be picked for the kickball team and to jump in the lake with everyone else. Often too smart for my own good. And too naive to understand the dirty joke the other kids were laughing at.
