Socially awkward geek looking for communication. I'm a 27-year old Masters student from Finland. As mentioned in the title, I'm socially awkward in a not-so-cute manner. "A social arse", as my sister so lovingly put it. I'm a geek inasmuch as I love reading (non-fiction and graphic novels are my thing), science fiction, web, studying, natural sciences, linguistics, and learning new stuff. I'm Also an active skeptic with little tolerance for nonsense like homeopathy, astrology or religion. My great heroes include Carl Sagan, Tim Minchin, Marie Curie, Zinnia Jones, Leia Organa, Alice from Resident Evil and the Doctor. Currently I'm trying to get my knowledge up to sufficient level above average on classical music as well as art, both of which I have no concrete experience as I can't either play or draw.

As I'm a lone female geek with trust issues and no hacker skills, I really have no community in this relatively small corner of Earth I inhabit. And since my aunt is on a mission to make me have some kind of relationship with someone that I don't have to pay to listen to me, and suggested the venue of internet (she thinks I communicate best in writing)... well, here I am.
