I am an undergraduate with a passion for the past. My interests include Star Wars, science, history, archaeology, paleontology, bones or fossils of any kind (but especially ungulates and Xenarthrans), calligraphy, table-top roleplaying games, science-fiction/fantasy writing, Tolkien but not C.S. Lewis, Caesar but not Cicero, and both love and war in the ancient world. Among other things.

Science is my guiding philosophy, and learning is my greatest passion. I appreciate the little things in life, and am looking for someone who feels the same.

I am curious but not too adventurous. I am the domestic sort, but love to travel . Having grown up in farm country, I prefer the quiet of nature to the bustle of the city. I am most at home in the middle of nowhere, digging a hole to find old stuff.

Five representative facts about me:
-I spend an equally large amount of time trying to dissect the fall of the Roman Republic (not Empire!) and the fall of the Jedi in both the Knights of the Old Republic Video Games and the movies.
-I am a passionate excavator, happy to spend all day digging in mud wearing a very ugly hat, and find the lab work afterwards equally engaging.
-My favorite movie is "The Lion in Winter," because it satisfies my fascination with royalty, my amusement at dry humor, and my abiding love for ancient political intrigue.
-I bake a mean cookie.
-I don't see the point in letting number-crunching consume a perfectly good role-playing session that should be more about building a story with solid characters, and hope that the new version of D&D will agree with me.

I am looking for a laid-back, non-religious, academically-committed guy who shares my passion for the past and fascination with Star Wars. Liberal thinking is a must, as appreciation of scientific thinking. I believe in committment and compassion, but also in passion itself.

I am not sure I believe in internet dating, but I am willing to test new hypotheses!
