Genetics Grad looking for Geek Happiness Well, my name's Ashley, or Ash, and I'm a graduate student working on my PhD in Genetics at UGA. I think that going for a PhD in any field makes you a nerd automatically, but I also love to read (sci-fi/fantasy), game (but no online, sorry.. never been one for WoW), and absolutely adore Renfaires and Dragon*Con. I will be blunt and say that I am overweight, but didn't want to put an actual number in my profile. I am working on it, slowly, though. Grad school doesn't lend a lot of money or time to devote to healthy eating and exercise, but I am doing what I can. I'm not one for the downtown scene or parties, but I love hanging out with a small group of friends and just chatting the night away. With my work, I'm in jeans and t-shirts all the time. I rarely, if ever, get in a dress or a skirt, and I can get out of bed, shower, get dressed, and be out the door in 20 minutes. Wet hair and all. I guess you could say I'm looking for a "kindred spirit" as cheesy and hokey as that sounds. I'm looking for someone I can have serious intellectual conversation with, but then can go home and at 3am be 12 years old and make fart jokes. I enjoy conversations that challenge me (but not arguments or debates) and make me want to go home and look up more on a topic or an idea. I love sitting at home and watching a movie, or playing a video game (or watching someone play a video game), but I also love getting out on occasion.
