by Stephen King. Hands down favorite series. If you a King fan, you'll definitely love it, in how it overlaps all of his other books. If not, you'll probably still at least appreciate them.
Anyone here read them or have an opinion?

`I have read them multiple times. Things start kind of warping after the fifth book though and at times seem a little silly. I made sense of it by just assuming that as existence winds down the worlds can't help but run together in ridiculous ways.

I know exactly what you're referring to. When I got to the introduction of "that one character" I almost put it down. The ending is anticlimactic as well. Shame, really, because it had so much potential. That's King's M.O.: start strong, end stupid.
